Mohs surgery is recommended by your primary physician or dermatologist.

This is a question to be answered by your doctor or dermatologist after an examination of the area in question.

Mohs surgery is typically recommended for individuals who have been diagnosed with a type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma – and in some cases, other conditions.

If you notice an irregular mole or freckle, you may have skin cancer. It is important that you visit a dermatologist every year so that he or she is familiar with your skin and can easily identify any abnormalities that may be developing. If you are concerned about an irregular dark spot on your skin, you should schedule an appointment with your dermatologist immediately – especially since many dermatologists tend to have busy schedules and may need to schedule your visit a few weeks out.
